The LACHSA Cinematic Arts Department trains the next generation of visual storytellers, content creators, media innovators and digital disruptors. The Cinematic Arts Department was founded in 2012 and has quickly evolved into the top High School Cinematic Arts program in the country. The Cinematic Arts curriculum gives students practical, hands-on experience and offers in-depth exposure to the constantly evolving media entertainment industry.

LACHSA's cinematic arts teachers and CA Department Chair serve as mentors who guide and engage the students to understand and fulfill their potential as human beings through the power of film. To view the full list of faculty and read their bios, please click the button below. 

The Cinematic Arts curriculum gives students practical, hands-on experience and offers in-depth exposure to the constantly evolving media entertainment industry. Students use state-of-the-art technologies in camera, lighting, and sound equipment, as well as industry standard post-production editing and color grading software. Moreover, students are given the opportunity to develop and deepen their filmmaking skills through the department’s unique vertical and horizontal integration of curriculum, thus ensuring that each consecutive year within the program enhances and expands their visual storytelling knowledge and refines their ability to clearly articulate and express their visions. The LACHSA Cinematic Arts department welcomes students of all backgrounds and skill levels to apply! LACHSA's admission season is usually open between October and January.
